Recording Secretary
Rashidah Hasan, C'98

Rashidah Hasan, C'98, is a dedicated Spelman alumna and experienced project manager. As Data Compliance Manager at SouthStar, she brings strong organizational skills. For the past two years, she has served as NAASC's National Assistant Recording Secretary, honing her expertise in record-keeping and communication.
Rashidah is also a leader in community service, serving on the Communities in Schools of Georgia's board and as past President of the Junior League of DeKalb County.
With her B.S. in Mathematics from Spelman and an MBA from Georgia State, she is poised to excel as NAASC Recording Secretary.
Husniyah Dent, C'97

I am a Lifetime member of the NAASC and have been involved on the national, regional and local levels. I have served on the executive committee as the recording secretary and credentials chair and have enjoyed giving service to Spelman and NAASC and fellowshipping with my Spelman sisters while providing meeting minutes and other communications for the executive committee.
I am a past chapter president and attend and participate in activities with my local chapter, the regional leadership meetings as a regional delegate and TBSS.
I am very involved in my community and have served in leadership positions with organizations.

Over the last 5 years I've been a member of the Southern MD Chapter, with the last 3+ years serving on the Executive Committee for the chapter. I'm currently an Engagement Manager at Amazon Web Services.
I have a passion for service, first starting as a Bonner Scholar at Spelman, to now volunteering as an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the Herndon Recreational League.
I love Spelman College, as it changed my life for the best, and I would live to serve it in this capacity as the NAASC Recording Secretary.

Armed with communication, organization, and engagement experiences from my work as a higher education administrator, I am confident in my ability to fulfill the duties of the Assistant Corresponding Secretary position. I serve as the Corresponding Secretary for the Huntsville Area Chapter, working to support its communication efforts.
I serve as the SE Regional Delegate, assisting the NAASC Vice President on the Process/Procedures committee. I will ensure that required notices and updates reach
each NAASC member promptly.If elected, I pledge to integrate technology in supporting timely clear, concise, consistent, communication efforts.

I’ve successfully managed budgets, optimized financial processes, and ensured compliance, driving efficiency and transparency. In past roles, I’ve increased financial accountability and streamlined reporting, empowering organizations to allocate resources more effectively.
My passion for Spelman’s mission and my proven track record in impactful financial stewardship make me uniquely equipped to serve as Financial Secretary, ensuring our alumnae’s contributions continue to create meaningful change and sustain our legacy.

I have served in leadership roles in NAASC, other organizations and professionally as a
CPA for 30+ years.This has given me extensive experience in building and nurturing
relationships, communicating with diverse levels of individuals, multitasking, results-
driven strategic thinking and utilizing exceptional financial acumen in the management
of financial transactions and decision-making. These are some of the skills that I used to
serve our members, chapters, regional/national leadership during my term as National
Financial Secretary.I desire to continue to use my talents/gifts in this role to contribute
to the ongoing outstanding work of NAASC for the next biennium.
