Annual Giving through the NAASC Donald & Isabel Stewart Endowed Scholarship (DISES)

In honor of their contributions to Spelman's legacy, the NAASC created an endowed fund, the NAASC Donald and Isabel Stewart Scholarship, for the 6th President and his wife for their dedicated service to the College and its alumnae.

Over thirty awards have been granted to support students in the arts, humanities, social sciences, mathematics and the sciences. Your support, in any amount, is an investment that may assist the next generation of Spelman students to complete their education.

The annual scholarship is sponsored by the NAASC, and administered by Spelman College.

Donations are tax deductible and count toward your annual class gift and the EVERY WOMAN… EVERY YEAR! Alumnae Giving Campaign.

After entering your contribution amount, you will reach a screen with Apply My Gift To section. Donald M. Stewart, Ph.D.

Donald M. Stewart was the sixth president of Spelman College (1976-1986). During his administration, the departments of women's studies and chemistry were founded, and The Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program was established.

A talented administrator, Dr. Stewart was also responsible for a significant increase in the College's endowment, while Mrs. Isabel Stewart was instrumental in widening the College's donor base.
