Annual Giving through the NAASC Donald & Isabel Stewart Endowed Scholarship (DISES)
NAASC sponsors the Donald and Isabel Stewart Scholarship Fund which provides annual scholarships
to students and is administered by Spelman College. This Scholarship was named in honor of the
6th President of the College and his wife for their dedicated service to the college and alumnae.
Contributing to the NAASC Donald Steward Scholarship counts towards Spelman's Every Woman!

About Donald & Isabel Stewart
Donald M. Stewart was the sixth president of Spelman College (1976-1986).
During his administration, the departments of women's studies and chemistry were
founded, and The Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program was established. A talented
administrator, Dr. Stewart was also responsible for a significant increase in the
College's endowment, while Mrs. Isabel Stewart was instrumental in widening the College's
donor base. In honor of their contributions to Spelman's legacy, the NAASC has created an
endowed scholarship fund in their name: the NAASC Donald & Isabel Stewart Endowed

Donations to the NAASC Donald & Isabel Stewart Endowed Scholarship (DISES) are tax
deductible and count toward your class's annual gift and the EVERY WOMAN! EVERY YEAR...
alumnae contribution percentage. Your support of the NAASC Donald Steward Scholarship
Fund and annual giving will help the next generation of Spelman students complete
their education. Your contribution in any amount is an investment in the students of
Spelman College. The Office of Annual Giving encourages all alumnae to give to Spelman
College each and every year.
About the Scholarship
A donation to the NAASC Donald & Isabel Stewart Endowed Scholarship is an investment in the
life of a deserving Spelman student. Over thirty awards have been given to support
students in the arts, humanities, social sciences, mathematics and the sciences.
Volunteer Your Time
In addition to the Annual Fund, you may donate your time through volunteering your time.
